The Bass Bug model was one of the three special rods Payne offered in the 1950's to 1970's, along with the Canadian Canoe Rod and Streamer Rods. Each is very rarely seen! The Bass Bug rod is a very powerful rod for large bass bugs, streamers, and weighted flies. It was made for throwing WF8 lines according to the 1951 Payne catalog, although some like it with a
