A fabulous fine silk embroidered wallhanging dating from around 1900. Expertly embroidered by hand in China, probably for the European market and most likely intended as a bedcover. The central roundel is beautiful and has a swirl of bats and butterflies with floral motifs. This is surrounded by intricately embroidered pumpkins, peonies and floral motifs embroidered in beautiful muted colours onto a rich brown silk satin ground. This
