So by adding the fence and the balls the composition came to life

boats and other objects become recognisable

a feeling of distance and altitude becomes apparent

The image formed the starting canvas for this landscape scene but by adding the detail of the broken old fence, the wharf and boat to the foreground and black burnt tree, completed the artwork.
