When you lift the phone off the base, Garfield's eyes open, and they close when you put the phone back down. The phone portion includes a lengthy telephone wire. This phone has not been tested and is a vintage electronic. It is not guaranteed to function. Cosmetically the phone is in good condition with some mild dirt stains
