In Gontis case, this deck is excellent at shutting down opposing creatures but falters against decks that arent looking to win on that axis
Following this spell immediately with a 1-mana cantrip, removal spell, or even a 1-drop creature should be a very good turn for you, whether you make tokens or spread +1/+1 counters around
For any deck with artifact synergy these shoot up even more in value
