French School Frigate ‘Kate’ In Stormy Waters A Nook Craquelure in areas and twoA 19th century oil on board depicting a three masted British frigate buffeted by stormy waters. Its red ensign is almost torn apart by the wind as it leans heavily towards its starboard side. It bears the name Kate and could perhaps be identified with further research. The painting has accumulated a great deal of wear over the years which seems to amplify the drama of the scene within. Its perfect for a gentlemans study and particularly a dark wall.
